Manchester United fans react after Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba are pictured together

Manchester United fans have expressed their excitement to watch Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba in action after the pair were pictured training together for the first time on Tuesday.

Pogba has missed the majority of the season through injury and was sidelined when Fernandes completed his long awaited move to Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

The Portuguese has made an instant impact at his new club, having a hand in five goals in just five Premier League appearances, and it was no coincidence to see United's form improve following his introduction to the team.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed Pogba was returning to full fitness prior to the clash against LASK in March leading to fans dreaming of how the World Cup winner will perform next to a player of Fernandes' quality.

However, the postponement of the season due to the coronavirus pandemic halted plans. Nevertheless, United are back in training working in small groups - and fans were finally treated to footage of Pogba and Fernandes training together on Tuesday.

Fans were over the moon to see the duo in action and can't wait to watch them in action on a match day.

Solskjaer gave an encouraging update on the fitness of Pogba and Marcus Rashford, believing both men could return to action if the league returns next month.

He said: "They’re looking good, they’ve joined training now and they’ve done everything the other boys have been doing. No reaction so far, touch wood.

"When we get started, it looks like we can have a full squad to choose from. We’re back in training which has been great. The boys have been fantastic, the weather’s been good and they’ve enjoyed it.

“Hopefully now we’ve proved we can do this safely and we can move to the next step. It’s been really enjoyable being on the training ground again.

“Everyone’s looking sharp, everyone’s been in with a good mood and we’ve been splitting up in groups so [working in] fours and fives together and they’ve really done well. Hopefully, they can as I said, step up and go to bigger training groups but so far it’s been good."
