Manchester United fans react after Alexis Sanchez scores again for Chile

Alexis Sanchez's mini resurgence continued at the Copa America overnight as he scored for the second game in succession to fire Chile into the quarter-finals.

The Manchester United forward's 51st-minute strike against Ecuador proved to be the winning goal after teammate Jose Fuenzalida's opening goal had been cancelled out by an Enner Valencia penalty in the first half.

Sanchez played the full 90 minutes in Salvador despite struggling with an ankle injury.

“I think I have a sprain, I hope it’s not too serious,” he said afterwards. “At half-time they strapped it up, I played on with a bit of pain.”

The 30-year-old's form for his country might come as a surprise to the United fans who have watched him toil since he joined the club from Arsenal in January of last year.

There was a mixed reaction to Sanchez's goals, with some fans now believing he could still come good for United and others less convinced.

It's because he's finally playing with decent players.

He needs to leave United for his own good.

One for the Game of Thrones fans.

It's the hope that kills you.

Like a different player.
