Manchester United fans rage at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after disastrous first-half vs Liverpool

Manchester United fans are furious with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following his team's calamitous first-half display against Liverpool, with many now calling for him to go.

United were looking to build upon the momentum gained from their galvanising comeback victory against Atalanta in midweek, but have instead been mauled by arch-rivals Liverpool in an astonishing first-half.

Jurgen Klopp's side took the lead after just five minutes, helped by United's first piece of disastrous defending of the day, as Mohamed Salah was able to stroll his way through the middle before teeing up Naby Keita to slot home.

An unmarked Diogo Jota doubled their lead less than 10 minutes later after being left unmarked at the back post and then United tried to fight their way back into things, actually getting themselves into some good positions too.

But the game was ended as a contest when Salah found the net himself before the break and in stoppage time the Egyptian got a second to condemn United to a hailstorm of boos at the whistle.

With another half yet to come - on the day after the 10 year anniversary of Manchester City's 6-1 win at Old Trafford - things could get even worse yet and fans now seem to have had enough with the current management structure.

Fans were seen leaving Old Trafford in their droves at the break, with Paul Pogba replacing Mason Greenwood.

It made no difference, however, as Salah completed his hat-trick within four minutes of the restart.
