Manchester United fans queue outside of Old Trafford for Cristiano Ronaldo shirt

Fans flocked to Old Trafford on Friday to purchase their brand new Cristiano Ronaldo 7 shirt from the club's official megastore.

United's official Twitter account tweeted a 20 second video of a long line of supporters waiting to buy up their 2021/2022 replica kits.

The video shows one fan recreating Ronaldo’s infamous Sii celebration, while another pointed to his right calf to show off his club crest tattoo.

Fans in the short clip can be seen in not only this season’s home shirt but their away and third kit as well.

It was confirmed on Thursday night that the summer signing would be able to wear the No 7 shirt he shot to fame in during his first spell at the club from 2003-2009.

Edinson Cavani was the previous incumbent of the shirt but will switch to 21, the number he wears when representing Uruguay, after Dan James left for Leeds United on deadline day.

Any fan who purchased this season’s shirt with Cavani 7 on the back from United Direct or the Manchester United Megastore will be able to return it, subject to proof of purchase.
