Manchester United fans praise Scott McTominay after clip surfaces from RB Leipzig win

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has been lauded by fans on Twitter after a display of strong leadership during the second half of Wednesday's Champions League group stage victory over RB Leipzig.

United hit five without reply to down their Bundesliga opponents in emphatic fashion, with Marcus Rashford scoring a late hat-trick off the bench to seal the result.

McTominay was seen motivating his teammates following Rashford's second goal, which made it 3-0, with twelve minutes remaining.

"Here we go again, go again, let's go come on!" he told the rest of the United side. "We've got to be aggressive, twelve minutes left, let's go!"

Fans on Twitter reacted to the clip with delight, praising the Scotland international for keeping United's intensity high despite the Reds being as good as home and dry.

One supporter wrote: "That’s exactly why I like him. He’s a winner & he doesn’t shy away from responsibility."

Another said: "Whether people like McTominay or not he’s been one of the reasons why we’ve had an upturn in form, there’s a reason why Ole turns to him and Fred when things get tough."

McTominay is approaching a century of appearances in a United shirt, having featured seven times this season in all competitions.

He scored during September's Carabao Cup victory against Brighton and Hove Albion to register his eighth goal for the club.
