Manchester United fans pick out three youngsters for praise after Leeds United pre-season win

Manchester United fans have picked out youngsters Mason Greenwood, Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong for praise after their 4-0 victory over Leeds United.

Greenwood, who played the first half of the game on the right wing, scored United's first goal as he prodded home Aaron Wan-Bissaka's cross inside the first seven minutes.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer changed his entire side at half time — as United led 2-0 with Marcus Rashford adding the second — and brought on more academy stars: including Gomes, Chong and Andreas Pereira.

But in the second half it was chiefly Gomes who drew praise from the United faithful on social media. The diminutive No.10 excelled on the ball in tight spaces, laying it off to teammates and even creating a good chance for himself, although he slotted a finish wide.

After a promising display from Greenwood on the right flank in the first half, it's clear the future augurs well for United. Solskjaer has promised that young players will be given chances.

After a quiet start following his introduction as a second half sub, Chong also impressed. He and Gomes linked up nicely to win a penalty from which Anthony Martial slotted home to make it 4-0 to the Reds. Chong's pace down the left and Gomes' vision in the pocket proved a dangerous combination.

Here's how fans responded to their performances on social media:
