Manchester United's new kit release has gone viral, after a picture of midfielder Donny van de Beek caught the attention of fans for a sad reason.
A photograph of the player modelling a £65 sweatshirt from the club's new Chinese New Year collection caught the attention of fans - who are all saying the same thing.
Since being shared, the post of the player has been liked over 6,800 times, and has been commented on over 160 times.
But instead of focusing on the kit, fans have been using the photo to make a point about the Dutch player.
"It's cold out there, this is a nice outfit to keep you warm on the bench."
Another wrote: "Warm sweater for cold bench."
"A suitable and warm sweater so he doesn't freeze to death before being subbed on with 1 minute remaining," joked a third.
A fourth person said: "Poor Donny is now reduced to being just a posterboy."
"World's most expensive mannequin," wrote another critic.
Van de Beek transferred to Manchester United from Ajax in September of last year for £34.7 million.
Since then fans have been left frustrated over the amount of time the Dutch player has spent on the pitch, with many wanting to see more of him.
