Manchester United fans have told Ed Woodward and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign reinforcements in midfield after seeing their side beat AC Milan on penalties in pre-season.
United drew 2-2 with Milan before emerging victorious in a shoot-out, but their midfield issues were exposed as Paul Pogba sat out with injury.
Pogba is expected to be back for the season opener against Chelsea, but Solskjaer was given the chance to look at the players pushing him in midfield and may have been disappointed.
Nemanja Matic had an indifferent game, while Andreas Pereira and Scott McTominay struggled to win the midfield battle at times.
Substitute Fred looked lively, but an all round performance was lacking. That prompted United fans to demand a midfielder is signed before the transfer window closes on Thursday if Solskjaer's men are to have any success this season.
