Manchester United fans name their Daley Blind regret after Instagram post

Manchester United fans have used an Instagram post by the club's official account to reminisce on the Old Trafford career of Daley Blind.

The Dutchman was one of Louis Van Gaal's signings in the summer of 2014, signing from Ajax in a £13.8million deal. During his four-year spell at the club, Blind featured 141 times, scoring six goals including a beauty against West Bromwich Albion that the club recent reposted on their social media accounts.

Having played in several positions at the club including left-back, centre-back and defensive midfield, fans are now adamant that he could have been the best man for a job many feel is still required in the current Manchester United midfield.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has some interest in signing defensive midfielder this summer, with Declan Rice of West Ham a name that's on the club's list.

His likely asking price of around £100million may mean deal doesn't happen this summer, however, with United likely to keep their options open in the market if another player they like becomes available.

Blind is currently playing as one of the Netherlands' three centre-backs at Euro 2020 as they maintained a 100 per cent record through the group stages. He is likely to start against Czech Republic in their last 16 encounter today (Sunday).
