Manchester United fans name Tanguy Ndombele transfer regret after performance for Spurs vs Juventus

Harry Kane may have stolen the show with his for Tottenham Hotspur against Juventus, but it was new signing Tanguy Ndombele who impressed Manchester United fans the most.

It was a brilliant game between the two sides - in the same stadium where United beat Inter 1-0 on Saturday - which finished 3-2 after a mad spell of three goals in 10 minutes, and topped by Kane's ridiculous strike to hand Spurs the win.

After 18 months of not signing a single player, Spurs finally dipped their hands in their pockets and broke their transfer record to splash £54m on Lyon midfielder Ndombele.

The Frenchman came on for his debut just after the hour mark and within two minutes he had threaded a wonderful through-ball past Juventus' new centre-back Matthijs de Ligt for Lucas Moura to bundle the ball home.

Ndombele continued to impress throughout the rest of his performance as he marshalled the midfield and showed glimpses of what more is to come in this coming season.

United are looking for a new midfielder themselves following the departure of Ander Herrera to Paris Saint-Germain and were heavily linked with Ndombele before he made the switch to north London.

United fans were impressed with the 22-year-old's brief cameo and expressed their regret that United didn't manage to snag him for themselves, and their fear that he's going to be brilliant against them.

You can see a selection of their reactions here.
