Manchester United fans name Jadon Sancho concern after Bayern Munich defeat

Manchester United fans have voiced their concerns over Jadon Sancho's form and fitness following his disappointing performance in Borussia Dortmund's costly defeat to rivals Bayern Munich.

United are expected to continue the pursuit of their top transfer targets in the summer and Sancho is at the top of the list, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to enhance his attacking ranks.

United have been long-term admirers of the winger who has been a revelation in Germany since he left Manchester City for first team football.

The 20-year-old has followed up his breakout season with an even better campaign this year, with a stagger 17 goals and 20 assists to his name - Lionel Messi is the only other player in Europe's top five leagues to have over 12 goals and assists each.

Yet since the Bundesliga returned following the suspension caused by coronavirus, Sancho has struggled to regain that excellent form and hasn't been named in Dortmund's three starting XIs so far.

The England international did manage to set up the second goal in the weekend's 2-0 victory over Wolfsburg, however.

Sancho was introduced as a half-time substitute in Tuesday night's Der Klassiker, with Dortmund a goal down after an excellent first-half which saw an outrageous chipped goal from Joshua Kimmich.

With Dortmund chasing the game, despite showing flashes of his brilliance, Sancho wasn't able to make the impact that they needed and Bayern held on to win and go seven points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.

Some United fans are concerned about Sancho's performance ahead of a potential move to Old Trafford in the summer.

You can see a selection of their reactions here:

While both Solskjaer and Ed Woodward have admitted that the upcoming transfer window will be unrecognisable from previous editions, United are still hoping to recruit strongly.

While Sancho is high on their list of priorities, Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish and Birmingham City's teenage sensation Jude Bellingham are also top targets.

A striker may also be on the agenda, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Odion Ighalo's future. M.E.N. Sport understands that United are considering moves for Lyon's Moussa Dembele and Timo Werner of RB Leipzig, though no contact has been made as of yet.
