Manchester United fans mock Granit Xhaka after Scott McTominay goal vs Arsenal

Manchester United fans couldn't help but laugh at Granit Xhaka for his poor attempt at stopping Scott McTominay's opener against Arsenal, but some felt he should have been punished for a foul in the build up.

United were not at their best against Arsenal in the first half, but went ahead on 45 minutes after a quick break found McTominay on the edge of the box. The Scot took a touch and fired a shot into the roof of the net as a helpless Bernd Leno looked on.

However sweetly McTominay struck his shot, replays showed that Xhaka ducked out of the way as the ball headed straight towards him, allowing it to ripple the net and instantly improve the mood around Old Trafford.

And while fans were quick to point out the help they got from the newly-appointed Arsenal captain, some also felt Xhaka was lucky not to receive a card for stopping Jesse Lingard as United broke forward with Daniel James.

Despite his best attempts at stopping United's attack, Xhaka's duck certainly went down well among United fans.
