Manchester United fans make transfer demand following Bruno Fernandes' performance in Nations League final

Manchester United fans were extremely impressed by attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes in Nations League final between Portugal and Netherlands on Sunday night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to add to his United squad this summer after a dismal end to the past season and midfield is an area in need of improvement after the departure of Ander Herrera and the uncertainty surrounding Paul Pogba's future.

United have been linked with a whole host of midfielders so far this summer but none as much as Sporting Club de Portugal's Fernandes.

Portugal won the game 1-0 thanks to a Goncalo Guedes strike but it was Fernandes who shined on the right side of a midfield three, even showing up Cristiano Ronaldo.

It was his fast and incisive passing from deep that allowed Portugal to counter attack with pace and he looked dangerous throughout, with several wicked shots from distance coming close to bursting the net.

He was Portugal's standout player, especially in the first half, as he continued his brilliant domestic form onto the international stage.

The 24-year-old scored 32 goals and set up a further 18 in 52 games for Sporting this past season, and he captained his team to a historic cup victory against Porto.

The chase for his signature looks set to be one of the transfer sagas of the summer, as both United and City are said to be interested in the midfielder.

Yet United fans were left very excited by his performance in the Nations League final and believe he is the man that the club needs in their midfield.

They took to Twitter to rave about his performance and a selection of their thoughts can be seen below:
