Manchester United fans make Scott McTominay and Ronaldinho comparison

Manchester United fans jokingly likened midfielder Scott McTominay to Brazilian footballing icon Ronaldinho after the Scot showcased his incredible first touch on social media.

Players are following individual fitness regimes at home during the coronavirus pandemic and many have taken to their social media accounts to keep fans up to date with their daily activities.

Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic went back and forth in a skills challenge while Axel Tuanzebe revealed to the MEN that the United squad are communicating via their own Instagram page to keep fitness levels high.

McTominay showed off his skills on Friday, plucking the ball out of the air with ease and catching it on the top of his foot.

United fans were left impressed by his ability and compared him with former Barcelona star Ronaldinho as well as ex-United forward Dimitar Berbatov.

Here is a selection of their replies:

McTominay was recently praised by his United teammate Nemanja Matic who believes the Scotland international has all the attributes to become a club legend.

He told the United website: "We are always talking, especially when he started to play in the first team, but now he's a proper senior player he plays like he’s had 10 years in the first team. With him, we don’t have any problems.

“I think he will be a very important player for Manchester United in the next 10 years or more. He is the kind of player and person that you always want to have in the changing room."
