Manchester United fans make Harry Kane comment after Jack Grealish signs for Manchester City

Manchester United fans are disappointed that Jack Grealish has joined rivals Man City, but admitted there would be more concern if their rivals went on to sign Harry Kane.

City confirmed on Thursday evening that they have signed Grealish from his boyhood club Aston Villa for a British record transfer fee worth £100m.

Grealish was a player who had been strongly linked with United last summer, though they were unable to meet the West Midland side's valuation of the player.

After the announcement, Manchester United fans have taken to social media to give their opinion on business done by their city rivals.

Some voiced their disappointment, with Emmet Donlan tweeting: "As a United fan I'm genuinely sickened that I have to stop following and enjoying Jack Grealish as a footballer."

Tom-S added: "As a United fan, and with Grealish being one of my fave non united players, it's a hard take this one. Good luck to him, but I now only like him for England."

City are also strongly linked with Tottenham striker Kane, who missed training this week as he looks to push through an exit from the club.

Several United fans agreed that it would be a worry if they signed the England captain.

Utdredssss tweeted: "More worried if they get Kane, Grealish at city doesn’t solve any problem, they already have creativity and he’s not a goal scorer either."

Vashist Varma added: "I’m not worried about Grealish but I’d be worried about Kane leaving Spurs. He’s undoubtedly the best ST in the league and with supply from KDB and potentially Grealish, it’d be scary. But nothing is impossible for us Reds."

Ronan Fitz also responded: "We'd all rather see him in a United shirt but upset seems strong; City already have same or better quality where he's expected to play. Kane is who I'm worried about tbh. Takes City up another level."

Grealish's announcement came on the same evening that Barcelona released a statement stating that they are unable to sign Lionel Messi to a new deal.

One United fan responded to the news: "That Jack Grealish announcement getting overshadowed by the Messi news...the petty United fan in me is loving it."
