Manchester United fans make Hannibal Mejbri prediction after first goal for club vs Man City

Manchester United fans think Hannibal Mejbri will play for the first team this season after his first goal for the club helped the U18s beat rivals Man City on Saturday.

Mejbri has impressed on his early appearances in a United shirt, having joined from Monaco in the summer after the club beat off stiff competition for his signatute.

The youngster was once again at the heart of things against City U18s at the Etihad Campus, with the home side taking a physical approach to attempting to stop him.

But after a competitive first half, Mejbri opened the scoring for United as he converted a fine Reece Devine cross from the centre of the area.

Centre-back Teden Mengi then doubled the lead as he found himself far upfield to produce a one-on-one finish Mejbri himself would have been proud of. United then held on to victory despite Liam Delap's consolation for the hosts.

After receiving a yellow card midway through the second period, Mejbri was substituted for Charlie Wellens on 68 minutes, but fans had seen enough to be convinced Mejbri has enough talent to threaten the first team squad this season.

Last season, of course, Mason Greenwood was rewarded for consistent performances at youth level with a first team debut, and supporters clearly feel Mejbri has a first team future at Old Trafford before long.
