Manchester United fans make demand after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scores in legends game

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored after just three minutes in Manchester United's Treble reunion game against Bayern Munich - and United supporters have joked he should register as a player next season.

Solskjaer took the reins from Jose Mourinho in December and, after a run of eight wins in eight games, saw his side lose their form to miss out on a berth in next season's Champions League.

United finished sixth in the Premier League - the same position that cost Mourinho his job - with the Reds' showing in the season's final months nearing the farcical.

The 20th anniversary of United's Champions League final victory over Bayern Munich was marked with reunion game and David Beckham proved that his infinite powers have not been lost, with Paul Scholes also catching the eye at Old Trafford.

Beckham was involved in the build up to Solskjaer's opener, with the Norwegian tapping home with an instinctive finish.

And United supporters on Twitter felt the forward still has magic in his boots.

The 'official announcement'

He showed his class straight away

The perfect combination

'Far more capable'

He's still got it
