Manchester United fans make Alexis Sanchez u-turn after Chile goal in Copa America

Manchester United fans could be forgiven for taking a second look at a video of Alexis Sanchez's highlights for Chile last night and wondering if it was the same player they have seen struggle at Old Trafford.

Sanchez managed just one Premier League goal last season in his first full campaign at United, which continued his nightmare start to life at the club since moving from Arsenal in January 2018.

With high wages that have had implications on United's wage structure and transfer dealings, many think the time is right for the club to cut their losses and sell the Chilean.

But after Sanchez scored and assisted for Chile against Japan in an all-action performance last night, some fans are having a re-think about his future.

The forward was a constant menace, sending a mixture of crosses into dangerous areas and looking to link up with teammates around the area.

And he was rewarded with a goal in the 82nd minute, timing a run perfectly to send a header into the roof of the goal.

Typically, his performance led fans to wonder whether Sanchez deserves a chance at United if he can use the Copa America to regain some confidence.
