Cristiano Ronaldo stood up off the substitutes bench and applauded Antony after he marked his Manchester United debut with a goal against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
Having been thrown straight into the starting line-up following his arrival at Old Trafford on transfer deadline day, the 22-year-old took 35 minutes to open his goalscoring account for the club. The Brazilian was slipped in by Marcus Rashford and buried a low, left-footed effort beyond Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and into the far corner.
It was a cool and composed finish from the youngster, who had not had much of a sniff in and around the 18-yard box up until that point. Arsenal were enjoying their best spell of the game and had earlier seen a goal chalked off following a VAR check for a foul.
