Manchester United fans love Jadon Sancho's comments on Marcus Rashford amid transfer interest

Jadon Sancho's comments during an interview with Borussia Dortmund 11 months ago have resurfaced and Manchester United fans are loving them.

The 19-year-old has emerged as the hottest prospect in world football due to his sensational performances for Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

Sancho has netted 13 goals and registered 13 assists in the league as well as scoring twice and creating two in the Champions League this season.

MEN Sport understand the England international is a target for United in the summer transfer window as he fits the profile of player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to bring to Old Trafford. Reports in Germany suggest Sancho wants to leave Dortmund at the end of the season and would accept a move to United.

With the Sancho transfer frenzy in full flow, United fans found interview footage from March 2019 where the youngster discussed his development as a player and cited Marcus Rashford as an inspiration for keeping grounded.

He told Dortmund's YouTube channel: "Luckily enough I’ve got great people around me to keep me grounded and humble.

"I’m grateful that I’ve got them around me telling me I’m not doing enough – there’s the likes of [Kylian] Mbappe doing crazy things at PSG.

"They are the kind of people I need to compete with as he’s so young and so am I. That always pushes me when I see Mbappe and Marcus Rashford doing well because I know they are probably looking at me and seeing what I’m doing and it’s probably pushing them.

"It’s good to see other young players doing well."

His comments have impressed United fans who are glad to see a potential new recruit keeping his feet on the ground.

They believe his mentality is setting him up to succeed at Old Trafford if a move is sealed in the future.
