Manchester United fans left stunned by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decision vs Crystal Palace

Manchester United fans are unsurprisingly surprised to see Timothy Fosu-Mensah in the starting XI to face Crystal Palace this evening.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 's options in defence are depleted following the draw against Southampton, with Luke Shaw suffering an ankle injury and Brandon Williams leaving the field with a cut head.

The United boss admitted both players were a doubt to make the trip to Selhurst Park and neither player has made the bench.

However, instead of drafting in Diogo Dalot to deputise, Solskjaer has opted to use Fosu-Mensah on the left side of defence despite the defender having not playing a single minute for the first team this season.

The 22-year-old has missed the majority of the campaign after undergoing knee surgery last year, although he has been training with the squad at Carrington.

Nevertheless, fans are bemused by Solskjaer's decision to start him against one of the league's most dangerous attackers in former United man Wilfried Zaha.

Manchester United XI vs Crystal Palace : De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Fosu-Mensah; McTominay, Pogba, Fernandes; Greenwood, Rashford, Martial.
