Wissam Ben Yedder's name came straight out of the blue, didn't it?
The French forward hadn't been mentioned as a potential target for Manchester United up until Tuesday when it was claimed by France Football that the Reds are prepared to trigger his release clause.
The report said United will turn to Ben Yedder as a possible replacement for Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian striker get his desired move to Inter Milan.
Lukaku's agent Federico Pastorello is currently in Milan for talks with Inter representatives. While the discussions are not believed to be exclusively centred around Lukaku, the 26-year-old's future is expected to be on the agenda.
Ben Yedder has a better goal ratio than Lukaku over the past two seasons having netted 52 times in 96 games for Sevilla, in comparison with Lukaku's tally of 42 in the same amount of appearances.
The 28-year-old would also be available at a far lower price than United are expected to command for Lukaku.
For these United fans, getting rid of Lukaku and bringing Ben Yedder in is a no-brainer.
