Manchester United fans impressed by Nemanja Matic's innovative home workout

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has devised a new and innovative way of keeping fit during lockdown.

The Serbian recruited the help of his daughter as he looks to maintain his fitness while football is suspended due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

In the video posted on his Instagram account, Matic can be seen working out in his home gym.

He is wearing a grey t-shirt, black shorts, white socks and trainers, as well as thermal garments.

In the background an exercise bike and a stack of dumbbell weights can be seen, as well as a trampoline and some mats.

But it is what is in the foreground that demands the viewer's attention.

Matic is performing press-ups with his hands on an inflatable platform... with his daughter on his back.

The Serbian, known for his physicality and no-nonsense style, barely even seems to notice she's there as he powers through several press-ups.

He performs eight without even slowing down before the clip ends.

The clip was captioned: "Today we change the weight from [baby] to [child]" with a heart emoji on the end.

It is not the first time Matic has used his kids to help him stay fit. He has also used his youngest daughter to add weight to his sit-ups.

Fans were impressed by his ingenuity. One replied saying: "Tomorrow your son...?!" while another said: "Keep working Nemanja."

A third commented saying: "Hope you and the family are well Nemanja."

The Premier League is currently suspended until April 30 and is under review.
