Manchester United fans hijack Jadon Sancho Pepsi advert with Paul Pogba

Manchester United fans were sent into a frenzy after transfer target Jadon Sancho appeared in a Pepsi advert with Paul Pogba.

United are hoping to make four signings in the summer transfer window to complete their squad overhaul and, while a new centre-back is the priority, a right-winger remains high on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's wish list.

Borussia Dortmund star Sancho has been a top target of United's for a number of years now but United have failed in three different attempts to sign him.

The latest of which came last summer when United were unable to tempt Dortmund into lowering their asking price for the England international.

United fans were left gutted when Sancho didn't arrive at Old Trafford in the summer but they haven't given up hope that he will eventually return to Manchester.

Fuel was added to the fire on Tuesday when Sancho tweeted out a Pepsi advert that starred himself and United midfielder Pogba.

The advert sees the duo juggling balls and Pepsi cans between themselves and was accompanied with the words: "Best duet for @PepsiGlobal Definitely me and @paulpogba," with a wink emoji.

Pogba himself later tweeted a similar advert with an even cheekier remark, as he wrote: "Finally on the same team @Sanchooo10," with a winky face.

Supporters were predictably sent wild by the tweet and made it clear to Sancho that they are desperate to see him in a United jersey next season.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke recently admitted the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic could force the club into 'giving up a player' in the transfer window, which could open the door for United to finally sign Sancho.

"In the midst of a pandemic, I am now ruling nothing out," Watzke told  Handelsblatt. "But it is not necessarily the aim. The most important thing is the financial balance: that we have a strong team on the field and at the same time are economically stable.

"If we play the whole of next season without spectators, we must certainly think about giving up a player. For the hell out of it, asking banks for credit lines just to not sell a player is not going to be our way."
