Manchester United fans hijack Bruno Fernandes tweet amid transfer interest

Manchester United fans flooded Bruno Fernandes with messages on Twitter after the midfielder shared a picture with his followers on Wednesday night.

Fernandes uploaded an image of him balancing a ball on his head alongside a shifty-eyes emoji as the focus of United's supporters remains firmly on the Portugal international.

United are exploring a January deal for Fernandes after passing up the opportunity to sign him in the summer.

The MEN understands United regard the £50million-rated central midfielder as an appealing mid-season addition following injuries to midfielders Scott McTominay and  Paul Pogba.

Fernandes has scored 15 goals and assisted 13 for Sporting this term and is expected to start for Portugal at the European Championship.

"I've got no transfer updates, so no," Solskjaer said when asked about Fernandes ahead of Wednesday's FA Cup win against Wolves. "If we get something that we can tell you about we will, but I've got no news now."

United fans on Twitter were all over Fernandes' latest tweet as they flooded his replies with welcome messages.

See you next week.

Confirmed.

That's better.

Stop teasing.

Good luck.

It's time for the uncertainty to end.
