Manchester United fans have the same transfer concern after team news vs Tottenham

Manchester United fans have demanded that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer strengthens his defence after the team was revealed for today's pre-season friendly against Tottenham.

United take on fellow Premier League side Spurs in Shanghai in the International Champions Cup, looking to maintain their 100 per cent record in pre-season this summer. Solskjaer's side for the game included Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young in defence — all of whom struggled at times last season.

New signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka was picked at right-back, but United fans firmly believe they need another defensive arrival to rejuvenate Solskjaer's back line. The Reds are interested in Leicester's Harry Maguire and have seen a £70million bid rejected for the England centre-back, although United officials are hoping to make a breakthrough with that signing.

Dozens of United fans took to social media to state the same concern — that United need to add strength to their back four.

Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw start the Spurs game on the bench and were among United's more solid performers last season but it's clear what the fans want, with a little more than two weeks left in the transfer window.

This is how they reacted to the team:

Solskjaer has made wholesale changes to his team in every pre-season game and may again substitute the entire side at some stage in the second half. United have won three from three on tour this summer without conceding a goal.
