Manchester United fans have the same Paul Pogba theory after team news vs Tottenham

Manchester United fans believe that Paul Pogba can make a huge impact from the bench against Tottenham Hotspur, as they lauded the options at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's disposal ahead of kick-off.

Solskjaer named a strong looking United team, lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation for their first Premier League game back after a three-month lay-off, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The United team to face Tottenham includes Marcus Rashford, who is fit again after recovering from a back injury, but Pogba is among the substitutes. Fred and Scott McTominay play in a midfield behind playmaker Bruno Fernandes.

The majority of United fans on social media appeared to understand Solskjaer's decision, with Pogba a useful asset to have on the bench.

In fact many supporters were excited about the fact Pogba, Mason Greenwood, Odion Ighalo and Nemanja Matic were all among the substitutes, believing United have great depth to their matchday squad.

Solskjaer will have the luxury of using five substitutes, as per the new Premier League rules for this rescheduled season.

Here's what fans said on social media about the team selection:

United team: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire (c), Shaw; Fred, McTominay, Fernandes; James, Rashford, Martial.

Subs: Romero, Bailly, Williams, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Lingard Ighalo, Greenwood.
