Manchester United fans have Ole Gunnar Solskjaer job theory following Liverpool defeat

A number of Manchester United supporters believe they know how much longer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to turn the club's fortunes around.

United's Premier league form was sent crashing to a whole new low on Sunday afternoon as they were swept aside by Liverpool at Old Trafford, losing 5-0 — meaning they are now winless in their last four league outings.

Mo Salah netted a hat-trick while Naby Keita and Diogo Jota also scored to put Liverpool in complete control, before United's woes were compounded on the hour mark when substitute Paul Pogba was sent-off after a lunge on Keita.

Despite United's current troubles, boss Solskjaer remained defiant after the game, insisting he will not resign or walk away from his position.

Speaking after the game, Solskjaer said: "Well, the only way I know how to approach life. That's to wake up tomorrow morning, look forward, evaluate what's gone on, what's gone wrong, do my very, very best to come through a difficult time.

"This is the worst feeling. You feel rock bottom and the feeling we've had, that we are getting to where we want to be, has been there. But in the last few weeks we've hit a brick wall. The results haven't come, the performances haven't come, we've conceded too many goals, too many easy goals and that's a concern."

Following Sunday's loss, some United fans believe they know how Solskjaer might have to save his job, Solskjaer speaking about looking ahead to the club's next three matches, which are against Tottenham Hotspur (A), Atalanta (A) and cross-city rivals Manchester City (H).

Although United have offered no hint or word on Solskjaer's future as things stand, some supporters now believe he has just three games left to save his job. It's understood a group of United players in the dressing room are questioning the manager's methods.

Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what some United supporters have had to say in response.

Some of the responses have attracted a tinge of sarcasm from some fans, but the general feeling amongst them is that Solskjaer has three games left to turn United's fortunes around and save his job.
