Manchester United fans have Mike Dean theory after Ashley Young red card

Manchester United fans are not happy with the red card awarded to Ashley Young in the Premier League clash with Wolves.

Young received his marching orders for a second yellow card in quick succession in the second half at Molineux. The second booking saw Young stretch for the ball and catch Wolves goalscorer Diogo Jota with his studs from over the ball.

Despite touching the ball, Young's challenge was dangerous and most United fans would probably admit it was the right call.

But with referee Mike Dean sending Young on his way to an early shower, there were some suggestions that the red card was inevitable as it was the 100th sending off of his refereeing career.

The first booking to Young also meant Dean has handed out 100 yellow cards this season - and United fans knew the landmarks would come in a big game.
