Manchester United fans believe the club will target a right-winger instead of a striker this summer should Edinson Cavani stay.
ESPN's Moises Llorens has claimed that Cavani is set to extend his contract at United despite interest from Boca Juniors in Argentina.
United's top priority this summer is a striker, with Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland their main target.
Yet, should Cavani stay, fans believe United could well reignite their interest in Jadon Sancho in order to strengthen the right of the attack, particularly with Haaland having a release clause in his contract that comes into force next summer, making him cheaper to buy.
Cavani enjoyed an excellent game in United's 6-2 win over Roma on Thursday night in the Europa League.
The 34-year-old scored twice and set two more up to help earn the Reds a semi-final first-leg win that goes a long way to sealing a place in the final.
Speaking post-match, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed he was doing his best to convince Cavani to sign a new contract, reassuring the veteran forward that life in Manchester is a lot different to how it has been during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said: "I have promised him that Old Trafford and Manchester is a different place with our fans in the stadium.
"He must try to get that feeling, to be on our side.
"Manchester is a fantastic place to live so I'm doing my best, so let's see.
"Of course, nights like this, hopefully we can get to the final and hopefully he can see himself being here for another year."
