Manchester United fans have Eduardo Camavinga theory after he drops transfer hint

Manchester United's mission to seal the signing of Eduardo Camavinga before the close of the summer has been a hot discussion point since speculation began earlier in the transfer window.

The highly-rated French midfielder has benefitted from a full pre-season at Rennes, as he was a notable omission for France's Euro 2020 squad that crashed to Switzerland in the last 16.

According to reports, Rennes are actively trying to find buyers for Camavinga as his contract expires next summer with the French club.

Despite being at the club since he was 11, there has been no effort from the player to engage in discussions over an extension and he seems certain to leave soon.

And it seems some United have gained confidence that Camavinga could be heading to the red half of Manchester imminently to complete a transfer.

That is because of a cryptic Snapchat story post from the French international. Camavinga — who was dropped to the Rennes bench at the weekend following a claim from his manager Bruno Genesio that "a lot of things are happening in his head" — uploaded an image of his locker in the Rennes changing room accompanied by a waving hand emoji.

Unsurprisingly, the post was met with a barrage of comments from United fans across social media platforms wondering if he is waving goodbye to Rennes and hello to Old Trafford.

This is what some United supporters said on Twitter in response to the post:

@deepaks11 said: "It's more like a hello from me."

@NickUTDx said: "He's leaving"

@lmlogesh1 said: "Maybe, who knows?"

As you can tell, United fans are desperate for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to complete the signing of the three-time French international.

It is unclear whether United have contacted his representatives in recent days. Still, it is believed that the 18-year-old would favour a move to Paris Saint Germain or Real Madrid, ahead of United.
