Manchester United fans are taking the positives after mistakes from current goalkeeper Dean Henderson and transfer target Aaron Wan-Bissaka sent England out of the U21 Euros.
England were beaten by France in their opening fixture thanks to a last-gasp Wan-Bissaka own goal, while a hectic finish to their must-win game against Romania ended in Henderson allowing a winner through his fingers.
With Henderson's United future still to be resolved, he may return to Sheffield United on loan after helping them to promotion from the Championship last season - but the goalkeeper has declared his intentions to play for United.
Wan-Bissaka, meanwhile, is thought to be close to a move to Old Trafford from Crystal Palace after a fine breakthrough season at Selhurst Park.
And the irony that both late winners against England came from mistakes by Henderson and Wan-Bissaka was not lost on United fans.
But while some thought there was a curse on those players, others thought Henderson could have been ensuring England's exit in order to speed up Wan-Bissaka's move to United.
