Manchester United fans have Bruno Fernandes transfer hope after deadline day

Bruno Fernandes was linked with a move to Real Madrid on deadline day but the Portugal international was still a Sporting CP player when he woke up on Tuesday morning.

The transfer window closed for clubs across Europe on Monday and the Daily Mail began the day by saying Fernandes was on the verge of joining Madrid for £64million.

However, that switch did not materialise and Fernandes must now stay at Sporting until January at the very earliest.

Fernandes recently revealed he was denied a move to the Premier League with Tottenham as he told GQ Portugal: "It was and is my goal to play in England, Sporting you know that, everyone knows that, and there were conditions for things to be done.

"But Sporting understood that the value was not enough and I have to respect the decision."

The fact that Fernandes remains at Sporting has some United fans hoping a winter move to Old Trafford could be on the cards.

Fingers crossed.

It would make sense.

January awaits.

It's possible.

There's a chance.

Time for Ed to redeem himself.
