Manchester United fans hammer Romelu Lukaku over his latest transfer comments

Romelu Lukaku has reiterated his desire to one day play in Serie A.

In an interview with Italian TV prior to the Manchester derby, the Belgian said he remains fully committed to United but admitted it is a 'dream' for him to play in Italy.

"Playing in Serie A is a dream, it would be really a dream," Lukaku told Sky Italia. "I hope to be able to play sooner or later, even if at the moment I am focused on the United."

The striker's remarks come after his agent said earlier this month that Lukaku could leave United in the summer.

"At the moment he is very focused on finishing the season,” Federico Pastorello told Sky Sports. “The competition for third and fourth place in England is very tight so let’s see what will happen in the future at the end the season.

“It’s his second season here and he will still have three years on his contract until the end. Let’s see. He’s someone who loves to know a different culture, a different football."

It's fair to say Lukaku isn't the most popular player with some United fans and plenty of them would be glad to see him go.

He'll find his level in Italy.

Sounds good.

Fancy a lift, Rom?

Send him on his way.

It's Ed's time to shine.
