Manchester United fans hammer Liverpool FC great Jamie Carragher over David Beckham comment

David Beckham's return to Old Trafford last month went down a treat as he starred in Manchester United Legends' 5-0 win over Bayern Munich.

The former England captain rolled back the years in the Treble reunion fixture and rounded off his impressive performance with a delightful goal in front of the Stretford End with the last kick of the game.

His display provided fans with a reminder of how good the old days were after six underwhelming seasons following Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.

It sounded as though Jamie Carragher had watched Beckham's performance against Bayern as he referenced the 44-year-old's crossing ability when praising Trent Alexander-Arnold during England's win over Switzerland on Sunday.

“I called him Beckham-esque at half-time, I don’t think Beckham could put crosses in like that at 20 years old," Carragher said. "That’s what he’s been. Outstanding.”

Needless to say, United's fans were left unimpressed by Carragher's comment.

Pull the other one.

No chance.

Worlds apart.

Alexander-Arnold is good but he's not that good.

Biased.
