Manchester United fans hail unsung hero in win vs West Ham

Manchester United fans hailed the performance of Aaron Wan-Bissaka after their weekend win against West Ham.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were woeful for large parts of their match at the London Stadium but found form in the second-half as they came from behind to secure a 3-1 win.

Goals from Paul Pogba, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford turned the game on its head as United secured all three points and rose up to fourth in the Premier League.

However, things might have turned out differently if not for a pivotal goal-saving challenge from defender Wan-Bissaka at the other end just before half-time.

With West Ham a goal ahead in the 45th minute the English defender denied what seemed to be a certain second goal as he raced back and regained possession with a perfectly timed sliding challenge.

United fans were full of praise for their attacking players after the match but made sure Wan-Bissaka got his credit for the key role he played in the match.

Taking to Reddit after the win United fans started a thread in which they hailed the efforts of their unsung hero for a vital win in their season.

"I love how often players don't even try to dive after his tackles; they're just that clean," wrote one fan, while another added: "It amazes me how consistent this guy is with his sliding tackles."

Another praised Wan-Bissaka for his continued development at right-back: "He’s such a weapon defensively. He’s becoming a better passer and dribbler too, the improvement is slow but it’s happening."
