Manchester United fans go wild after stunning Cristiano Ronaldo goal vs Tottenham

Manchester United fans have been left delighted as Cristiano Ronaldo has given his side the lead against Tottenham with a stunning strike.

United are looking for a big reaction following the 5-0 drubbing handed to them by Liverpool last week as they take on Spurs in North London and have started the match well.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reverted back to a 'back three' formation which has made his team much more solid defensively and able to get a better grip on the game in midfield.

United took a deserved lead towards the end of the half during a sustained period of pressure that ended with a piece of magic from Ronaldo.

After the ball ricocheted around the box, Edinson Cavani managed to nudge it back to Bruno Fernandes who eventually chipped a delightful pass to Ronaldo at the back post, who had peeled off his marker to volley into the bottom corner.

It was a great goal, just what United needed, and fans are understandably delighted with the strike.

They have been heaping praise on the No.7, as well as Fernandes for his excellent assist.

Before the match, United legend Roy Keane was extremely critical of how the team performed against Liverpool and called for them to show more character, which they definitely did in the first half.

" They need to show some character," he said on Sky Sports. "United have some many talented players especially going forward but a lot of the players defensively, the two lads in midfield, but Maguire and Shaw last week they were an absolute disgrace to the club. These are established international footballers."
