Manchester United fans fume over Joshua King transfer interest

Manchester United are continuing to explore a move for their former forward Joshua King as the 11pm transfer deadline approaches.

King was on the books at United between 2008 and 2013 and was managed by Solskjaer during the 46-year-old's time in charge of the reserves.

United are in the market for a forward after Marcus Rashford suffered a double stress fracture to his back earlier in January.

"I would be very reluctant to let him leave. With a day to go in the window it's very difficult to find a replacement," Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said of King on Friday.

"It's going to be [a decision] between the chief executive and owner. I love Josh as a player and person. I know what Manchester United means to him with his history with the club, so I understand his position."

MEN Sport understands United had an initial bid for King rejected but could return with an improved offer.

However, it doesn't sound like his arrival would go down too well with many supporters, judging by how Twitter looked on deadline day.

Shambles.

Are we in a time machine?

His record is not great.

Double standards.

Something doesn't add up.

Too expensive.
