Manchester United fans have called for Bruno Fernandes to replace Harry Maguire as the club's captain ahead of their next Premier League fixture.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be looking for a response from his squad following the humiliating 6-1 home defeat to Tottenham last time out. Bruno Fernandes was substituted at half-time during that match.
United were reduced to ten-men in the first half after Anthony Martial was dismissed for violent conduct following an altercation with Erik Lamela and television cameras caught United captain Harry Maguire disagreeing with Marcus Rashford that Lamela should have been sent off too - a conversation which infuriated some supporters.
Many believe that Fernandes should be given the captaincy for the remainder of the season.
United will be without Martial for the game against Newcastle and deadline day signing Edinson Cavani is also set to miss out due to COVID-19 quarantine guidelines.
The forward is currently self-isolating after travelling to the UK meaning his debut could come against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
