Manchester United suffered their fourth defeat in their last six Premier League outings on Saturday, going down 2-0 at the hands of cross-city rivals Manchester City.
An early own-goal from defender Eric Bailly and a close-range finish from Bernardo Silva — who pounced on some shambolic defending from Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw — put the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side to the sword.
The defeat to City and the nature of United's performance has increased the pressure on manager Solskjaer once again, with more and more supporters urging the club to relieve the Norwegian of his duties and source a replacement.
However, while it is understood that Solskjaer's position is increasingly at risk, United are not set to pull the trigger just yet, with the lack of succession plan being in place making the prospect of making a change somewhat difficult.
Nevertheless, the pressure in Solskjaer is mounting and more and more supporters are desperate to see a change made, even though it is currently almost impossible to predict who would replace the 48-year-old.
Following the aftermath of Saturday's defeat to City, the MEN ran a survey to gather the thoughts of United fans on just what needs to change at Old Trafford, ranging from a new manager being required to the defence needing bolstering.
Almost 10,000 United supporters took part in the online survey and gave the verdict on what needs to change is clear.
Of the 9,984 votes cast, 75 per cent of those who took part said that a new manager is what United need to improve most.
A total of 13 per cent voted for a better midfield being required, 12 per cent a better defence and just one per cent a new attack, making it clear that the supporters believe it is in the technical area where the main problem lies.
Although the pressure on Solskjaer is continuing to mount, the United boss, following the defeat to City, admitted that he remains confident that he can turn the Reds' fortunes around.
Solskjaer, asked if he felt something can still be achieved this season, said: "Definitely. And you're right, back to where we should be, for me it's about back to what we started to look like, we started to look a proper team, we started to look like a team I like to see.
"We've had three or four weeks now of a disappointing spell."
