Manchester United fans delighted as UEFA confirm Champions League draw to be redone

UEFA have confirmed that the draw for the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League will be re-done again following this morning's controversial error.

Concerning Manchester United who were on the seeded side of the draw and initially pitted up against Spanish side Villarreal.

However, the rules clearly stated that no two clubs that had faced each other in the group stages, nor two clubs from the same country, could be drawn against one another, meaning United were unable to face fellow Group F side Villarreal.

Villarreal were immediately redrawn against Manchester City, with United's name being put back into the bowl - but not the correct one, meaning they were excluded from possibly facing Atletico Madrid and affecting the integrity of the draw.

Eventually, United were drawn out as the very last club, by which time they knew that they would be facing Paris Saint-Germain for the third time in the last four seasons.

Calls for the draw to be re-done were immediate and UEFA agreed, declaring the first run through null and void.

United's supporters were furious following the draw this morning, with some describing it as a "fix" and others as a "joke."

Now, however, the mood is different. Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what they have had to say.

As you can see from the messages displayed in the tweets above, United's fans have welcomed the news that the draw is to be done for a second time, with many of them feeling that it could not have stood from the first time around.

At the same time, however, some Reds supporters believe that they will be pitted up against PSG once again.
