Manchester United fans defend Bruno Fernandes decision as rival fans rage

Match of the Day have released their Premier League team of the season based on supporters' votes.

The BBC asked fans to vote on the Premier League players they felt should be in the team and one United player made it in, as Bruno Fernandes secured a place in a three-man midfield alongside Jordan Henderson and Kevin De Bruyne.

Naturally, the Portuguese's inclusion caused quite the stir on social media considering he only joined United in January and has only played in England for a month and a half.

Supporters of other clubs reacted by suggesting players who they believe should've been in the team in Fernandes' place.

United fans leapt to the midfielder's defence, with many revelling in the anger of their rivals.

Fernandes joined United on a five-and-a-half-year contract in January.
