Manchester United fans believe Jesse Lingard's good form for West Ham may well boost his potential price tag in the summer.
The United attacking midfielder scored again for his loan side on Monday, helping the Hammers to a 2-0 win over Leeds United that moves them two points off a top-four spot with a game in hand.
Lingard now has four goals in six appearances for David Moyes' side after joining them on loan in January and looks set to play a key part in their battle to secure a shock Champions League spot for next season.
With United eyeing a busy summer of transfers themselves, fans believe that, should Lingard help West Ham into the top-four and gain a large amount of income from competing in Europe, then the Reds can up their asking price for the 28-year-old.
Lingard's goal came with a slice of fortune attached as his poor penalty was saved by Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier, who was only able to parry the shot straight back to the midfielder, and he was able to finish at the second attempt.
Speaking post-match, Moyes admitted that he would have been happy to see regular penalty taker Declan Rice step up for the spot kick.
He told Football.London: "Both of them have been practicing all week and they have been in competitions all week in training.
"As far as I was concerned I would have been happy for Declan to take it but Jesse had been practicing all week, so he was big enough and brave enough to take it and I wasn't impressed by his penalty but I was impressed with the speed at which he got to the rebound and got it into the net, so I am pleased.
"He has had a big impact here and I am really pleased for him."
Moyes added: "I didn't think it was his best game tonight but I didn't think any of our forward players played as well as they should have done.
"I felt that Jesse has made a big impact for us and he makes a big difference to us."
West Ham are set to take on United at Old Trafford on Sunday evening but will be without Lingard due to the terms of his loan deal.
