Manchester United fans can't wait to see new tactic against Everton in Premier League

Manchester United fans are excited to see how the team performs in a new formation against Everton in the Premier League .

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made five changes to his side as he looks to end United's dismal recent record at Goodison Park.

Daniel James drops out of the squad entirely due to injury with Anthony Martial returning to the starting XI to partner Mason Greenwood in attack.

Bruno Fernandes is set to operate behind the front two with Scott McTominay, Fred and Nemanja Matic providing support behind in what looks to be a diamond formation.

It would be the first time Louis van Gaal's tenure that United have used a diamond in midfield to support the strikers, when Wayne Rooney was deployed in an attacking midfield role behind the duo of Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie, and fans can't wait to see it in action.

Supporters have been calling for Solskjaer to use the shape since the signing of Fernandes was confirmed and they finally get their wish against the Toffees.

Here is how they reacted to the team news on social media:

Solskjaer explained before the game that James misses out on a place in the squad due to a slight injury concern.

However, he hopes to have the Welshman back in contention for the upcoming FA Cup fixture against Derby.

The United boss said: "He got a knock on Thursday, but he'll be fine for Thursday or definitely next weekend, so not too much to worry about."
