Manchester United fans bemused by Solskjaer team selection vs Barcelona

Manchester United supporters are concerned by the prospect of Ashley Young possibly playing as a centre-back in the Reds' Champions League quarter-final first leg against Barcelona at Old Trafford.

The 33-year-old was used in the position in United's comeback victory against Paris Saint-Germain in the previous round and featured in a similar role in United's 2-1 Premier League defeat against Wolves last time out.

United were poor at Molineux and supporters were left far from convinced by the former England international's competence on the right-hand side of a centre-back trio.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer selected Diogo Dalot to play, suggesting that the 19-year-old could operate as a wing-back on the right flank.

Marcus Rashford came into the side in United's only change from the loss at Molineux, with the forward returning from an ankle injury to replace Jesse Lingard.

But some United supporters on Twitter expressed their fears over Young.

'God save us'

Recipe for disaster?

Really?

'April fools has been and gone'

'Nooooo'

It's the ultimate test

'Messi is shaking'
