Manchester United fans baffled by L'Equipe player ratings after Barcelona defeat

Manchester United fans have been left feeling baffled by L'Equpe's player ratings for the Champions League quarter-final defeat against Barcelona.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side fell to a 1-0 defeat in their first-leg encounter on Wednesday night as Luke Shaw's own-goal proved to be the difference during a scrappy performance.

Neither side were at their best during the encounter, and it is no surprise to see the player ratings reflect that.

Scott McTominay played exceptionally well and was given the highest rating by L'Equipe with a 7, but it was the ratings of Paul Pogba and Ashley Young which really baffled supporters.

The French outlet rated Pogba as the worst player on the pitch with 3, while Young was given a rating of 4 which was the same as Victor Lindelof and Lionel Messi.

United are under no illusion that Pogba had an off night, but the fact he was rated worse than Young has left them baffled.
