Nottingham Forest announced Roy Keane had left the club after five months as assistant to Martin O'Neill and it had some Manchester United fans saying the same thing.
The former United captain confirmed in a statement he had parted ways with the club having worked with his former Republic of Ireland boss for the final stages of last season.
"Working with Martin over the last few years has been a magnificent experience, one of my greatest in football both as a player and a coach and one I want to personally thank him for," Keane explained.
With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the midst of rebuilding the club in a bid to try and get United back to the top many fans saw the news of Keane's Forest departure and took to Twitter to suggest he should join his former teammate back at Old Trafford.
Given the suggestion is Keane left Forest to get back into management the likelihood of him returning to United as an advisor to Solskjaer is very slim, but, it didn't stop this fans from suggesting it.
