Manchester United fans are saying the same thing about Cristiano Ronaldo after Portugal hat-trick

Manchester United fans were mesmerised by Cristiano Ronaldo's performance for Portugal in their Nations League victory against Switzerland.

The Juventus forward, who spent six years at Old Trafford, netted a hat-trick to fire his side to the inaugural final of the competition.

Ronaldo, 34, took his tally at international level to 88 goals in 157 appearances.

His first on the night came with an unstoppable free-kick in the first half, before Ricardo Rodríguez levelled proceedings after the break.

But two goals in the final two minutes saw Ronaldo fire the hosts to the final, where they will play either England or the Netherlands on Sunday.

And United fans on Twitter longed for the forward's return to the club, with Ronaldo showing no sign of slowing down 16 years after his Portugal debut.

'Can we have him back?'

He trumps them all

'He'd destroy the Europa League'

He wouldn't come cheap

'Ridiculous'

'Deal done'
