If Memphis Depay is anything to go by, it's most certainly true, with the former Manchester United winger regularly posting his love for the club on social media.
United fans have gone wild for the Dutchman's latest post, a tribute to Reds legend David Beckham on the former England captain's birthday.
Beckham turns 44 today (Thursday) and Memphis tweeted a picture of him wearing a vintage Beckham shirt (the infamous grey away kit that was ditched at half-time against Southampton in 1996) with 'Beckham 24' on the back.
Memphis, who swapped Old Trafford for Lyon in 2017, posted the picture alongside the message: "We’ve got to pay homage to the greats. Happy birthday to @ManUtd legend David Beckham!"

Depay has been linked with a move away from Lyon in recent weeks.
And judging from the reaction from United fans on social media, it appears many would take him back at Old Trafford.
