Manchester United fans' anti-Glazer banner flies over Elland Road before Leeds fixture

A banner reading '£2billion stolen Glazers out' repeatedly flew over Elland Road before Manchester United's Premier League encounter with Leeds.

United fans arranged for the flyover to reiterate their opposition to the Glazer family's 16-year ownership of the club following protests at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Before United's trip to Burnley in September 2018, a banner reading 'Ed Woodward: a specialist in failure' flew over Turf Moor amid the executive vice-chairman's lack of backing for then-manager Jose Mourinho.

The Manchester Evening News revealed plans for another protest prior to the visit of Liverpool next Sunday, sparked by anger over United's involvement in the derailed Super League breakaway concept.

There were few fans milling around outside Elland Road and none of them were United supporters. The two United team coaches had no issue getting into the stadium.

The Liverpool team bus was confronted by angry Leeds fans prior to their 1-1 draw at Elland Road on Monday night.

A bitter banner written to United hung up outside the Billy Bremner statue, dubbing United 'plastic, shallow and selfish'. United are playing at Leeds for the first time in the Premier League since October 2003.
